don't muscle your way through

hi blog

Watched Keith Owens on Submissions 101 giving a "talk" to his students (part1 here and part2 here). He speaks so much truth about fighting that can be applied to regular life. Its not about making your opponent tap out but its about not getting tapped out.

Little notes:

Be a pussy for a minute, don't muscle your way through.
Its about the joy of it, not about hurting someone else.
Learning is not hurting.
Be strong, but don't be too strong.
Its a marathon, not a sprint.
Going 100% means you are not caring about others.
"I want to be 70+ years old and still be practicing JiuJitsu"
"They won't last 5 years, they get hurt and 'retire'..."
Don't be a musclehead.

and...

"You've got to be relaxed
You've got to be focused
You can't be scared
You've got to be having fun!"

So true. That "incident" will happen again if we do not practice with the correct & right way. So

I'm going to search for some Bruce Lee philosophy on fighting soon. Many people think that fighting is for brutes, but no... there are wise men in there too! :P

bye blog
